Emanuele de Biase Corneli
concert violinist

Emanuele de Biase Corneli began studying the violin under the guidance of Massimo Pastorello at the Scuola di Musica di Testaccio in Rome, Italy.

After just 9 months of playing, he was admitted to the prestigious "Santa Cecilia" Conservatoire in Rome, as a student in the class of Alfredo Fiorentini.

As an especially promising musician, Emanuele was permitted to skip two years of the “Santa Cecilia” program - after just 12 months of classes. At that point he began to study under Marcello Manari and Franco Tamponi.

As a Bachelor of Arts candidate in Literae Humaniores (Classics) at Oxford University, he nevertheless found time in 2004 to perform Bach’s Second Partita and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in the Holywell Music Room. In his final year of academic study at Oxford University, he both soloed and conducted Bach’s Violin Concertos in the University Church of Oxford.

After returning to Italy in 2005, Emanuele was awarded his soloist diploma under the guidance of Lisa Green. Subsequently he began studying with Pavel Vernikov and Igor Volochine, while also attending Masterclasses with Zakhar Bron. In October 2009 he has been admitted to the famous Academy of Imola to study with Pavel Berman and Maurizio Sciarretta.

Most recently, Emanuele has with increasing regularity performed a repertoire from the Romantic period. He has also been performing solo recitals from Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas, as well as the Caprices of Nicolò Paganini. He plays a 1949 Paolo de Barbieri violin, copy of Paganini's legendary violin, the "Cannone".
